Chapter 3 - Operation 

d)  Press SECTOR, STEP or SPIRAL. Parameter menu is displayed for the 

selected type of scan. The following paragraphs describe each scan type 
and define the parameters associated with that scan type. 

3.3.15.2.1 Sector Scan 

Sector scan will move the antenna back and forth through  a sector. 
Parameters may be entered via soft key menus or remotely through the  
computer interface.  

a) 

With top level menu 

displayed, press MENUS for the desired axis. 

b)  Press SETUP. Setup menu is displayed. 

c)  Press SCAN. Scan menu is displayed. 

d)  Press SECTOR.  

e)  Press PSTART to set start position for the scan. Position choices are 

CENTER (current position command), MAXANG (current position plus 
scan amplitude) and MINANG (current position minus scan amplitude). 

f)  Press ESC on numeric keypad to return to sector menu. 

g)  Press AMPL and enter scan amplitude in degrees. 

h)  Press RATE and enter scan rate in degrees per second. 

i)  Press ESC on numeric keypad to return to scan menu. 

3.3.15.2.2 Step Scan 

Step scan moves the antenna in increments defined by step size and 
amplitude. Parameters may be entered via soft key menus or remotely 
through the  computer interface. 

a) 

With top level menu 

displayed, press MENUS for the desired axis. 

b)  Press SETUP. Setup menu is displayed. 

c)  Press SCAN. Scan menu is displayed. 

d)  Press STEP.  

e)  Press STPSZE to set step size in degrees. 

f) 

Press AMPL to set the scan amplitude in degrees (centered about start 
position) of the range of the steps. This value must be greater than step 
size or no step will occur.
