Appendix D

Subassembly Removal and Installation

Caution

This equipment is

ESD

sensitive.

Put on an ESD wrist strap and clip the ground strap to an unpainted spot on the chassis before
handling any PCBs.

Note

: This procedure includes cover removal and installation, and the removal and installation of several subassemblies.

It is suggested that you remove the cover, locate the steps covering the removal and installation of the faulty
subassembly, replace that subassembly, then replace the cover. Do only the steps required for whatever subassembly
has failed.

To replace the hard drive:

2. Ensure that power to the server is OFF.

Put the key in the hard drive lock.

Turn the key counter-clockwise.

3. Lift the handle and pull the drive out.

4. Hard drive bay, drive removed.

5. Slide the hard drive into the bay.
