by applying values on several speakers and subwoofers simultaneously (It is not enabled if Bass-Management
is Off);
•
Individual Setup
: The Individual Setup provides the ability to adjust the settings on each speaker and sub
individually (It is not enabled if Bass-Management is Off);
•
LFE & Misc
: This allows adjustment of the LFE gain, polarity, Low-pass filter type, Low-pass frequency, slope,
as well as enabling the st10dB LFE input and stacked sub correction.
The Bass Management page is also accessible through the Top Menu of the Altitude
16
User Interface.
The Altitude
16
allows you to specify how the lower frequencies of each channel will be reproduced by one or more subwoofers
or speakers. For each speaker you can:
• Specify High Pass and Low Pass filters for the speakers and the bass-managed signal redirected to the subwoofer(s) or
speaker(s) (including frequency, filter type and slope);
• Activate one or more subwoofers or speakers that will reproduce lower frequencies from that channel;
• Setup the gain and polarity for each bass-managed signal redirected to one or more subwoofer(s) or speaker(s);
• Setup the gain for each subwoofer;
• Invert the polarity for each subwoofer;
• Route the LFE channel to one or more subwoofer(s) or speaker(s).
This is different from the majority of the currently available AV surround preamplifiers which offer relatively simple bass
management features. They usually allow you to choose from only two types of speakers: “large” or “small”, and have
predefined parameters for the bass management filters.

6.4.2 _BASS MANAGEMENT MODE
The Altitude
16
offers 3 different bass management modes:
•
Off
: No bass management (default);
•
On
: Standard bass management mode + intermediate bass-management mode;
•
On + LFE to LR (legacy)
: Distributes the LFE signal only to the Left and Right speakers. Can be used when there is no
subwoofer in the system. Note that in this mode, if a subwoofer is declared, the LFE will not be played by this subwoofer. It
is recommended to use «ON» to redirect the LFE to the speakers when there is no subwoofer in the setup.
Those modes are accessible from the dropdown menu as shown below:
