Control Handles
Use the control handles (
) to drive the machine
forward and backward, and to turn in either direction.
Ignition Switch
The ignition switch (
), used to start and stop the
engine, has 3 positions: Off, Run, and Start. Rotate the key
clockwise to the Start position to start the engine. Release the
key when the engine starts. The key will move automatically
to the Run position. To shut the engine off, rotate the key
counterclockwise to the Off position.
Choke Control
To start a cold engine, close the carburetor choke by pulling
the choke control (
) up to the Closed position. After
the engine starts, regulate the choke to keep the engine
running smoothly. As soon as possible, open the choke by
pushing the control down to the Open position.
Note:
A warm engine requires little or no choking.
Throttle Lever
The throttle lever (
) controls the speed of the engine.
Moving the throttle lever forward toward the Fast position
increases the engine speed. Moving it backward toward the
Slow position decreases the engine speed.
Note:
The throttle lever cannot stop the engine.
