Creating a GC Method
You can create a method for the TRACE 1300/1310 Series GC from the Method Editor
window.

To create a method for the TRACE 1300/1310 Series GC
1. Click the GC icon in the left pane.
2. Click the Oven tab to set the oven temperatures. See Figure 78 . There is always at least
one temperature and time in any GC temperature program. In the Initial row, enter the
initial temperature, which must be 4 °C (7 °F) above room temperature and less than the
maximum operating temperature of your GC column. If you set the initial temperature
to a value below this limit, the GC will not reach the initial temperature. If you set the
temperature above the limit, the GC column will be damaged. You can set the initial hold
time to a value between 0 and 999.99 minutes. The typical initial temperature is at least
10 °C (18 °F) above the boiling point of your sample solvent, and the initial time is
usually long enough for the solvent to move through the column.
