9. To remove the deuterium lamp assembly:
a. Gently pull its connector free from the contact pins on the lamp power supply board.
As
shows, the connector for the deuterium lamp has three leads.
b. Loosen (but do not remove) the two Phillips head screws by approximately four
turns, lift and gently twist the mounting flange to free the lamp (see
).

Do
not
try to remove the lamps from their mounting assemblies. Remove and
replace a lamp, its mount, cable, and connector as an assembly as described in the
following steps.
IMPORTANT
The surfaces of both lamps must be free of fingerprints and smudges,
which cause performance problems. For this reason, wear clean, talc-free gloves when
you handle the lamps. If either lamp requires cleaning, clean with a lint-free lens
paper moistened with methanol or isopropanol before replacing the lamp cover.
