TIP—Once the Play button has been pressed, the instrument settings can be
changed in real-time.
Parameter Description
Play button Initiates real time scanning
Stop button Ends real-time scanning
Real time data
display Shows the real-time data acquisition once the Play button has been
selected. The X (m/z mass range) and Y (relative signal intensity)
are displayed.
Status window Displays the current source type and instrument status
Scan type User selectable for full scan and SIM modes of operation
Spectrum Type Select the spectrum type: profile or centroid. . For SIM methods,
select profile mode only.
Polarity Select the probe polarity
Use calibrant A check in this box will actuate the internal valve and initiate an
internal calibrant infusion into the MS instrument
Use tune value Use to enter a custom value for the tube lens
Ion transfer
tube temp Select the heat applied to transfer tube after the exit cone
Vaporizer temp Select the heat applied to the ESI probe out of the manifold for
aiding in desolvation
Source voltage Select the voltage applied to the ESI capillary for ionization
Source CID
voltage Voltage applied within the source to induce collisional dissociation
Tube lens
voltage Select the voltage applied to the tube lens
Sheath gas
pressure Select the main nitrogen gas pressure used for desolvation /
nebulization.
Aux gas
pressure Select the gas flow around the probe outer manifold
Sweep gas
pressure Select the counter-flow gas pressure coming out of sweep cone
Load calibration
masses Button that automatically provides pre-selected full-scan masses
for internal calibrant.
Mass Table Enter selected mass and/or mass range of interest. Real-time data
display will auto update with selection
