Leak Test

Use the following procedure to perform a leak test.
Equipment Required:
Swage Lock cap (sample port)
Small rubber cap (purge tubing to pump “Y”)
Vacuum Tester with Gauge (with a resolution of .5 in Hg or better)
1.
Turn instrument OFF, unplug the power cord.
2.
Block the SAMPLE bulkhead on the rear panel with a leak-tight cap.
3.
Disconnect the tubing from the Filter Wheel purge to the pump at the
“Y” fitting and cap the tubing coming from the purge.
4.
Connect the vacuum tester tool to the EXHAUST bulkhead on the
rear panel.
5.
Squeeze trigger until gauge reads to pull in 10 in Hg.
6.
Observe vacuum gauge for stable reading for 5 minutes. If reading
remains at 10 in Hg, no leak is present.
Note
Acceptable leak rate is .5 in Hg over 10 minutes.
