Read out all parameters of the installation: Save all parameters in a file (with ADRACS ’Data’ submenu
’Up−/Download Data’, resp. with MCS ’Snapshot’ submenu ’Save’)
, make a printout of all parame-
ters, or write down manually the indicated parameters if other measures are not possible. Use applica-
tion "420ILS LGX Flash memory Configuration". Make available corresponding firmware for the board
which has to be replaced.
a) Shutdown equipment with switches TX1 and TX2.
b) To start the special function menu, press buttons S1 and S4 simultaneously on the LCP immedi-
ately after power on and hold pressed until screen of LCP contains Control menu information (see
Fig. 6−8 a).
c) Press button S4 at least 1 s to start the LGX bootloader menu (Fig. 6−9 a).
d) Select one of the upcoming menu points (Fig. 6−9 a) according to the board which has to be
installed.
For the next steps the following example is used: LG− X shall be configured as LG−A for TX1. For
other boards the procedure has to be performed accordingly.
e) Press S1 to select: "Load firmware to LGA−1"
.
f) Confirm upcoming next menu "Load firmware to LGA−1 ?" pressing S4. The program menu
answers with "Connection to LGA−1 established !" (Fig. 6−9 b). The bottom line shows the indica-
tion of bytes copied from PC to the LG−A board.
g) Insert the floppy disk (or CD, if available) with program "Config420Setup_ITCU.exe" to the Laptop.
Start the program and follow the instructions (select menu Function , command Load ). The loading
process is now controlled by this software. As requested prepare the subassembly (here: LG−A
of TX1) for loading procedure (see Fig. 6−5):
− Press load button and hold.
− Press reset button.
− Release load button.
Both green LED at the front of the board light. The board is ready for loading the firmware.
h) Confirm "OK" in the ready message of the configuration program at the Laptop. Upper green LED
flickers until communication is installed, then both LED are out. The program starts now for down-
loading the firmware (load corresponding
*.ROM file, only visible if selected file type is all files").
The transfer can be observed on the laptop screen. After transfer is finished both LED are off.
i) Press button S4 two times to confirm. Shutdown (switch off) the equipment with switches TX1 and
TX2 and switch on again.
NOTE: If the LG−A or LG−M board has been replaced by a new one, that board is not config-
ured to the installation. This is indicated with the upper LED lighting only. The configu-
ration is performed with the PC user program dialog ’LRCI Station Configuration’.
j) Open the Station Configuration dialog (see Annex ’PC User Program−specific Procedures’). After
confirmation of the settings, the configuration is loaded to the LG−A or LG−M boards.
k) Perform a hard reset of the system using PC user program, see Annex ’PC User Program−specific
Procedures’. Two commands are necessary: First, send to Transmitter1/2 the command ’Miscella-
neous, (Perform) Hard Reset’, then send to Transmitter1/2 the command ’Miscellaneous, Perform
Audio Gen(erator) Calibration’ (possibly 2 times).
l) Download previously stored or noted equipment data to the new board (with ADRACS ’Data’ sub-
menu ’Up−/Download Data’ resp. with MCS ’Snapshot’ submenu ’Open’). Perform readjustment
procedure of transmitter and monitor.
