8 PROGRAMMING
T11/T12 is equipped with internal non-volatile memory, whose structure can be represented in a table where
programming data can be entered (see programming table below).
The table contains a set of variable lenght parameters.
There are 3 different ways of programming the system:
1) By calling the system from a DTMF telephone, either connected to the PBX or remotely.
2) Using a local PC through a serial port with the appropriate DIAL-232 adapter and the DIAL200WIN
programming software package.
3) Using a remote PC with DIALPROG4 programming kit including DIAL-232 PC interface and
DIAL200WIN software package.
8.1
Remote Programming over the Telephone
The remote programming function allows users to update the device's data tables over the telephone to
modify its operating mode. You must dial a telephone number to which T11/T12 is connected and wait for it
to answer with a series of DTMF tones.
During courtesy message playback, you must type ### (3 time #). If the unit asks for switching to English
mode (alternating), select it or wait. T11/T12 will asks then to insert programming password (see parameter
8 for alternating language).
If the entered password is correct, the unit will play the message “Start programming” . At this point, you
must enter the number of the field (parameter) that you wish to program and confirm the choice with the
#
(pound key).
After, for example 43# (answering machine activation/de-activation), the system will announce “Field-4-3-
value-change-to…” then you must insert the field value, for example 0, and wait for system confirmation (the
unit will repeat the inserted digits). Now you can confirm the choice by pressing #, the unit will acknowledge
execution with “Accepted” or you can cancel the entry by typing * (star key) and the system will announce
the cancellation with “Cancelled”.
Don’t insert any value if you want to empty a particular field, just insert # (pound key) after the
announcement “Empty” and the unit will say “Confirmed”.
Now user can break programming by simply hanging up (from firmware version 1.14 this operation can be
also performed by pressing 2 times the star key “**”) or modify other parameter as described above.
T11/T12 allows the user 3 seconds from the last DTMF tone entered, to enter the value of the field before it
re-reads the entered value.
In the event that you have reached the limit of the data area provided for the field in question, this time value
is cancelled in order to speed up programming.
For example, if the parameter is 1-digit long, T11/T12 re-reads the digit entered after receiving one DTMF
digit; if the parameter is 3-digit long and the user enters only 2, T11/T12 will confirm the entry 3 seconds
after the user entered the second digit; when 3 digits are entered, the entry is confirmed immediately after
receipt of the third digit to indicate that the field is full and, at the same time, for speed up programming.
T11/T12 will remain in remote programming mode until it detects the release tone from the caller to break
the connection, or from 1.14 firmware version, until the caller types for 2 times the star key “**” to release the
line. The parameters already entered will be stored, those still to be entered will require another call to the
unit. During programming the line is busy.
8.2
Programming with a Local or Remote PC
This function requires an additional product kit: codes Dial-232 and T12WIN. This kit is designed to simplify
and speed up management of the T11/T12 device. Using the Dial200WIN software package on a PC
running on Windows 98/NT/2000/XP operating system, the kit allows users to handle a database of
clients/devices, complete with the values of the fields entered in the devices in a very fast and practical
manner in a local environment. Furthermore, if you also have DIALPROG4, you can use the PC to call the
system and program it remotely. For the details on the methods of programming through a local or remote
PC, we refer you to the manual provided with the remote programming kit.
8.3
Resetting the Default Parameters
If necessary, ONLY by opening the cover of T11/T12, user can reset ALL the data entered in the device's
memory to the factory settings (see tables for the default values).
To erase the memory and reset the device
with the factory values you will need to turn off the unit, open the panel and remove T7005 music on hold
board if enabled. Then turn on the device, connect the two golden pins located over the “music on hold”
board until the front leds start to blink quickly. Disconnect then the two pins from each other, turn off the unit
and re-insert the T7005 board in its site. Then close the cover and turn on the unit.
