Captions
This setting is accessible only when SETUP MENU MODE is
set to EXPERT (p.64).
Select ON or OFF for closed captions. The default setting for
this feature is "OFF". If you wish to view the movie with
subtitles, turn this feature on.
NOTE:
Foreign films often have subtitles as part of the movie which
cannot be turned off.
Selecting the Language for OSD
(On Screen Display)
You can select the language for OSD (On Screen Display).
This setting determines in what language the SET UP menu
and operating messages are displayed. It has nothing to do
with languages on DVD movies. The default language is
ENGLISH.
Parental Rating
Playing some DVD discs can be limited depending on the
age of the users. The parental rating system allows playback
limitation level to be set by the parent. The default setting is
"8 (ADULT)".
Notes
< The lower the level is set, the stricter the limitation is
offered.
< If the parental control level of the loading DVD disc is
higher than the setting level, the "PARENTAL VIOLATION"
message will be shown on the TV screen, and the system
will refuse to play the disc.
< To change the parental control level, a correct password is
needed to key in.
Select "PARENTAL RATING" on the SYSTEM tab and press
the ENTER button. You will be asked for a password.
Use the numeric buttons on DVD/CD PAGE 2 to enter "2580"
(or your privacy password if already established).
Press the ENTER button as many times as necessary to
select the desired parental rating.
