7.3.3.2 T-VIPS Detect

If you are not able to connect through the USB Interface, you may use the T-VIPS Detect
software. This software may be found on the T-VIPS Product CD (version 2.20 and newer), or
by contacting T-VIPS Support (see

Section 2.4

). An User’s Manual is also included.

The T-VIPS Detect software detects devices by sending broadcast messages that the CP525 and
other T-VIPS devices will recognize and reply to with some essential information. The PC
running T-VIPS Detect may be on a totally different subnet than the CP525, such that the device
will be discovered regardless of IP addresses and IP submasks.

Warning:

Some ethernet equipment might block broadcast traffic. Con-

nect your PC directly to the CP525 to avoid this.

Note:

It is possible to avoid that the CP525 is detected by the T-VIPS

Detect software. See

Section 8.4.5.1.1

for details on how to do this.
