6-7 Power Supply
The 8048B-TRFT has four (2+2) redundant, high-efficiency 1620 Watt power
supplies. The power supply modules are auto-switching capable, enabling them to
automatically sense and operate at a 100v to 240v input voltage.
An amber light will be illuminated on the power supply when the power is off. An
illuminated green light indicates that the power supply is operating.
Power Supply Replacement
Any one of the power supply modules can be replaced without powering-down the
system. Replacement power supply units may be ordered directly from Supermicro.
Changing the Power Supply
1. With the system running, unplug the AC power cord from the failed power
supply module.
2. Push and hold the release tab on the back of the power supply.
3. Grasp the handle and pull the power supply out of its bay.
4. Push the replacement power supply module into the empty bay until it clicks
into the locked position.
5. Plug the AC power cord back into the new power module.
the SC848 chassis includes three hot-swappable external cooling fans that may be
replaced without powering down the system.
Replacing an Exhaust Fan
1. Press the release tab on the top of the fan you wish to replace.
2. Pull the fan away from the rear of the fan cage at a slight angle and lift the
posts on the base of the fan out of the holes in the fan cage.
3. Place the new fan into the vacated space in the same position as the other
fans.
4. Confirm that the fan is working properly.
