It is also possible to use ARCS and ENC update services even when the ECDIS900
PC is not connected to Internet. Then it is necessary to use either a removable drive or
USB memory stick.
The mariners are able to update:

Only selected charts
•
All charts necessary for a specific voyage
•
All charts included inside the screen area
•
All charts installed on board
Automatically the ECDIS900 checks the status of all installed charts and the last applied
updates for each chart.
A file containing all information concerning the status of all charts and updates is created
and sent by Internet to the chart server.
Response
After few minutes a user receives an answer.
ECDIS900 detects automatically answer from the chart server and applies the update to the
database after informing a user.
C-MAP charts
C-MAP charts are ENCs that are compatible with ECDIS900 version . C-MAP offers not only
ECDIS approved ENCs but also enhanced global coverage of digital charts. C-MAP charts are
copyright protected. The user has to order and install the permits first before using the
charts.
ECDIS900 is compatible with C-MAP ENC+ Service which offers global vector chart coverage.
It contains only official ENCs approved to meet the SOLAS carriage requirements and the
ECDIS mandate.
In areas where ENC is not available, high-quality vector charts produced by C-MAP are
included.
C-MAP is an authorized distributor of ENCs from Hydrographic Offices directly and through
Regional ENC Coordinating Centers (RENCs).
