OPC compatibility
The MK8000 is compatible with OPC Data Access (DA) version 2.0.
Note:
MK8000 is
not
compatible with OPC Data Access version 1.0.
If no SQL Server is available, then the
Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Data Engine
(
MSDE 2000
)
SP3
or
Microsoft SQL Express 2005 SP2
and the related
SQL
Backward Compatibility
software should be installed before MK8000.
Microsoft SQL Express 2005 must be used with Windows Vista.
This software is available free of charge on the MM8000 software installation disk.
The installation of the
SQL Express 2005
requires two steps:
–
Installation of SQL Express 2005.
–
Installation of SQL Backward Compatibility Pack.
If the
SQL Server
is available on the machine where MM8000 is installed or on
the network, it can be used for the MM8000 functions as well. The name of the
SQL Server should be manually specified during MK8000 setup (see p.35) or
modified later using the SQL Server tab of the Engineering Tools (see 3.4.5.1 at
p.42).
Note that SQL Server 2005 requires SP2.
If
SiPass
is installed and integrated with MM8000, then the MSDE installed by
SiPass can also be used for MM8000. Instead, note that the SiPass setup does
not accept as valid the MSDE copy installed by MM8000.
