Generating a new self-signed SSL certificate

You can generate a new self-signed certificate through the meter webpages.
A self-signed certificate is valid during the lease period. Generating a new
certificate renews the lease.

1. Use a browser to log in to your meter.

2. Navigate to

Setup > HTTPS

.

3. Click

Generate new self-signed certificate

.

The meter prompts that the custom certificate will be deleted and that you will
be logged out.

4. Click

OK

to proceed.

Deleting a custom SSL certificate

You can delete a custom certificate through the meter webpages.

1. Use a browser to log in to your meter.

2. Navigate to

Setup > HTTPS

.

3. Click

Delete custom certificate

.

The meter prompts that you will be logged out and that a self-signed
certificate will be used.

4. Click

OK

to proceed.

FTP

Your meter has an internal FTP server that you can use to load files, such as
custom webpages, and upgrade your meter and meter accessories.

FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is a standard, client-server network protocol used to
transfer files over Ethernet networks.

Accessing your meter’s FTP server

You must have FTP software such as Filezilla, WinSCP or Windows Explorer
running on a Windows-based machine to transfer files to and from your meter’s
internal FTP server.

1. Start your FTP software.

2. Connect to your meter via FTP by entering your meter’s IP address.

Depending on your FTP software and meter security settings, you may be
prompted for login credentials.

NOTE:

With standard meter security (no user configured), enter login

credentials of 9810 and the meter password to connect to the meter. For
advanced meter security, enter a valid user and password.

3. Navigate to the appropriate folder on your meter.

4. Close your FTP software to disconnect from the meter. The FTP connection

automatically disconnects once the FTP timeout period has elapsed.

FTP memory allocation

Your meter’s FTP memory usage changes when you copy a file to the meter’s
internal FTP site or modify a feature that uses the meter’s FTP site.
