Advanced security username and password through the display
You can enter your username and password on the meter’s display when
advanced security is enabled.
When you attempt to change a setting through the display of a device that has
advanced security enabled, you are prompted to provide the username and
password created using ION Setup. If the access level associated with the user is
not sufficient to change the setting, you cannot modify the setting and the
message
INVALID SECURITY LEVEL
or
INVALID ACCESS
is displayed.
NOTE: Only standard printable ASCII characters are allowed for passwords
created in ION Setup.
Changing your meter password using the display
You can change your meter password using your meter’s display.
The meter password is also used as the webpage password if standard security is
enabled.
NOTE: If advanced security is enabled, you must enter a valid username and
password to change the meter password using the display.
1. Go to Setup Menu > Password Setup .
2. Configure your meter password.
Configuring standard security using ION Setup
You can fully configure standard and advanced security on your meter using ION
Setup.
In order to change security settings, you must be logged into ION Setup with an
appropriate ION Setup user level. You must also have the appropriate meter-level
security access to configure meter security.
1. Start ION Setup.
2. Open the Setup Assistant for your meter.
3. Navigate to Security . Select Security Mode and click Edit . The open dialog
box appears.
