3.3.2 Using the Ethernet cable
Step 1: Connect the Ethernet cable
Connect the Ethernet cable shown in Section 2.4.1 between a LAN network and the connector
labeled ’ETH’ on the rear panel of the AsteRx-U3 indicated in Figure 3-7.

Step 2: Open a web browser and connect to the AsteRx-U3
By default, the AsteRx-U3 has the hostname ‘http://AsteRx-U3-xxxxxxx’, where xxxxxxx are
the last 7 digits of the AsteRx-U3 serial number. This hostname can be used on a local
area network to connect to the AsteRx-U3 if the IP address assigned by the DHCP server is
unknown. The serial number can be found on a sticker on the corner of the outer casing
of the receiver. Figure 3-8 shows a screenshot of an Ethernet connection to a receiver with
serial number 3238326 using ‘
http://AsteRx-U3-3238326
’.
