3.2.1 Test Setup
Connect the external RF signal source (mobile station, signal generator etc.) to one of
the bidirectional RF connectors on the front panel of the R&S
CMW.

3.2.2 Measuring Reverse Link Signals
After physically connecting the 1xEV-DO AT to the R&S
CMW, adjust the following
analyzer settings to the properties of the reverse link 1xEV-DO signal:
●
the carrier frequency or frequencies in case the reverse link uses more than one
carrier (revision B)
●
the expected nominal power and - if required - a user margin and external attenua-
tion. Recommended values: expected nominal power = peak power of the AT sig-
nal over the entire measurement range; user margin = 9 dB
●
the physical layer subtype
●
the long code masks for the I and Q channel
3.2.3 Multi-Carrier Configurations (Rev. B)
The R&S
CMW can measure 1xEV-DO reverse link signals with up to three radio fre-
quency carriers (1xEV-DO Revision B).
All active reverse link carrier signals are captured and evaluated at the same time.
However, in order to view the results or change settings for the respective carrier, that
specific carrier needs to be selected via the GUI or remote command. Commands
defining the carrier configuration are independent of the pre-selected carrier.
3.2.4 Combined Signaling and Measurement
The TX measurement can be used in conjunction with the 1xEV-DO signaling applica-
tion (option R&S CMW-KS88x), i.e. a connection to the AT can be set up by the signal-
ing application and the resulting reverse signal can be measured using the TX mea-
surement.
To link the measurement to the signaling application, the combined signal path sce-
nario must be activated (see
). The signal routing and analyzer
settings are then controlled by the signaling application. The TX measurement displays
