The servo transit speed of all three control surfaces can be
entered individually for each direction, separately for the
‘there’ and ‘back’ directions. A separate programming mask is
provided in the second display level, as shown below.
Mark the appropriate field, and enter the desired value using
the arrow buttons. The adjustment range is 0 to 27 increments.
The highest number equates to a servo travel time of up to
nine seconds.
The screen shot below shows a typical servo run time set-up:
When you have completed the programming of a snap roll
manoeuvre, it is fundamentally essential to check everything
very carefully on the model itself.
18.20 MULTI-MOTOR
SETTINGS FOR MULTI-MOTOR MODELS
This function enables you to define the most important set-
tings for controlling the motors in a model aircraft with up to
four power plants. These settings are as follows:
• Motor cut-off functions (Motor off)
• Idle settings (Idle 2)
• Idle-up (Auto-rotation)
• Full-throttle trims (Trim max.)
• Idle trims (Trim idle)
To enter values for these settings you must first activate each
of the throttle servos (THR, THR2), and then enter the servo
position as a percentage.
With the ‘Power model’ type already set, mark the ‘Multi-
motor’ option in the Model menu. The screen display now
looks like this:
This menu will differ according to the particular model type
you have selected. The number of throttle channels displayed
on the screen is dictated by the number defined in the model
configuration. Our example shows two (maximum: four).
The first step is to activate the whole function for each throttle
channel (THR, THR2 etc.) in the Status line: mark the field, and
the display changes from ‘INH’ (inactive) to ‘ON’.
After this you can enter the settings for ‘Motor off’ and ‘Idle 2’
for each motor: the first step is to activate the function in the
Status line, and then enter the servo position (Posi.). Mark the
appropriate field to activate the function, then enter the posi-
tion in the form of a percentage value. After marking the field
you can a new value using the arrow buttons. The adjustment
range is 0% to 50%; the default setting is 17%. Pressing
‘Reset’ restores the default setting.
In the bottom line you will see the Auto-rotation (Motor Hold)
option, which can be activated individually for each motor.
Mark the appropriate field: the screen displays ‘ON’, and the
throttle servos run to the values set in the ‘Motor pos’ window.
This option sets one motor to a particular value, so that you
can adjust a second motor independently of it.
In the second level of the display you can set the values for the
trims - for full-throttle and idle - separately for each motor. The
required value is entered as a percentage figure in the ‘Rate’
line, using the arrow buttons. A separate field contains the pre-
fix, so you can reverse the direction of the servos if necessary
to suit your installation. The adjustment range is 0% to 30% in
each case. The default setting is 0%; pressing ‘Reset’ restores
that setting.
