14. PLAYER, FOR PLAYING MUSIC FILES
The Player is used for playing back music files in Windows
Media Audio Format (wma). The player does not support the
mp3 file format; such files have to be converted to wma format
before they can be played. If you visit the T14MZ / FX-40 sup-
port page of the robbe website you will find information on
locating free programs designed for converting mp3 files into
wma format. In the near future a free conversion program will
be available there for downloading.

NOTE:
The volume level which you set in the Player menu applies to
the output of all music and sound files.
The music files must be copied into the WMA folder on the DP
card. The Player only looks for files in this folder; if a file is
copied into a different location, it will not be displayed and can-
not be played.
Playing music files places a great strain on the Windows ope-
rating system, with the result that other audible outputs or the
graphical menu control system may show a slightly delayed
response when music is playing.
We suggest that you keep the Sampling Rate as low as possi-
ble, or reduce the files to a low mono bit-rate if using the inter-
nal monaural loudspeaker.
This type of file does not absorb so much of the Windows ope-
rating system’s resources.
Repeat function: plays all the songs
on the DP card in turn until you press
the Stop button.
Sequence function: the Start button is
used to play back the next piece of
music stored on the DP card.
If you move to the “Switches” sub-menu, you can select any of
the transmitter’s controls to operate the Player. For example,
you may wish to assign the volume function to the centre rotary
knob CD.
NOTE:
If you define transmitter controls for operating the Player, the
corresponding touch-screen controls in the Player menu are
erased to avoid any adverse mutual inter-actions.
