LINE = 17-POINT CURVE AND SPLINE = 17-POINT CURVE, ROUNDED
The methods of setting and adjusting the Line and Spline curves are identical; the
only difference with the Curve variant is that the transitions at the points on the
Spline are mathematically rounded, producing a more harmonious shape. The
number of curve points suggested by the software varies between 3 and 9 points,
according to the Set-up menu in which the Line or Spline is called up; the curve is
initially displayed as a straight line.
The user is free to vary the number of points within the range 2 to 17 points by
adding or erasing individual points. The curve points are also variable in the verti-
cal (Y-axis) and horizontal (X-axis) directions.
For a simple symmetrical setting activate the
“ Separate.”
button field and select
“
Combine.”.
MOVING THE POINTS IN THE VERTICAL DIRECTION (Y-AXIS)
Select a curve point using the cursor buttons
(B),
press the Rate button field, and
assign the desired rate to that point using the control button field
(A)
or the 3-D
Hotkey.
OFFSET
The Offset setting is used to move the entire curve in the vertical direction. If the
offset value is up to 50%, the travel remains the same for both sides of neutral, but
if the value is any higher, the servo travel will be at its end-point at one extreme, so
the travel becomes increasingly asymmetrical.
ADDING A POINT (USING THE TRANSMITTER CONTROL)
• Activate the “Point” button field.
• Select a location on the curve using the transmitter control (blue cursor line) and
press the
“Reset”
button. The screen displays an “empty” point.
• Press the
“Rate”
button; this assigns a rate (Y-value) to the point corresponding
to the shape of the curve. The colour changes to pink.
• Alternatively you can assign a new rate within the range +150 to -150% using
the vertical control button fields
(A).
ERASING A POINT
•
Activate the “Rate” button field; the display in the button field changes to
“Delete”.
•
Select the point to be erased using the horizontal control buttons
(B)
(colour
changes from green to pink).
•
Press the
“Delete”
button; the assigned rate for this point is erased, and an
“empty” point appears on the screen.
You now have two options:
1. Assign a new, different rate to the point using the control button field A.
2. Delete the point completely; for doing that, jump to the next point (control but-
tons B).
ADDING A POINT (USING THE CONTROL BUTTONS)
It is also possible to add a new point using the button fields:
•
Activate the
“Rate”
button field.
•
Select a curve point close to the new desired position using the control buttons
(B)
(colour changes from green to pink).
•
Move the point on the curve using the control buttons
(C)
(cursor display chan-
ges to an “empty” point).
•
Press the
“Rate”
button; this assigns a rate (Y-value) to the point corresponding
to the shape of the curve. The colour changes to pink.
•
Alternatively assign a new rate within the range +/-150% using the control but-
ton field
(A).
