Laying Out Multiple Pages on a
Single Sheet of Paper [Layout]
■
Final images
Lay out an original of 2 to 16 pages on a single sheet of
paper.
1
Place an original.
The direction for placing the original varies
depending on the number of copies of original
to be laid out on a single sheet of paper.
This machine limits the master making range so
that margins are applied inside the paper size. This
feature is provided to prevent the rollers in this
machine from being stained with ink and to prevent
the occurrence of a paper jam.
When [Max. Scan] is turned on, the master making
range is not limited according to the paper size and
you can make a master in [Maximum printing area]
(
B
Even if you turn on [Max. Scan], the
range of 5 mm (3/16 inches) from the
leading edge of the paper is not used
for master making.
B
Before performing master mak-
ing, check that the platen cover
pad and entire area of the glass
platen is not stained. Even a stain
that is located outside the origi-
nal may cause the rollers in this
machine to be stained with ink as
this stain is also included in the
master to be made.
B
Tightly close the platen cover
during master making. If there is
a gap under the platen cover, the
shadow of the original is included
in the master, causing the rollers
in this machine to be stained with
ink.
B
Do not use paper that is smaller
than the image for which a master
has been made. The rollers in this
machine will be stained with ink
and those stains will be trans-
ferred to the back surface of the
paper in the subsequent printing.
The process for laying out an original of multiple
pages on a single sheet of paper is referred to as
[Layout].
