Description
[Standard] Select this option when the condi-
tion for [Portrait] below does not
apply to the original.
[Portrait]
Select this option for photos that
show the upper half of the body of
up to two persons.
(The image is processed so that
the faces are especially printed
clearly.)
Type
Description
[Standard] Select this option when you want
to reproduce characters and pho-
tos with good balance. This
option is also suitable for colored
originals.
[Line]
Select this option to emphasize
the clearness of characters. This
is also suitable when the original
contains a photo with clear con-
trast, such as buildings and gloss
on metallic surfaces.
[Photo]
Select this option when the origi-
nal contains a photo in which
smoothness of gradation is
important, such as food and por-
trait photos.
[Shadow
off]
Select this option to clear the
background color of the dark-col-
ored originals, such as newspa-
pers.
[Shadow off] is selectable aside
from other options.

Description
[Darker]
Select this option to clarify light
characters.
[Lighter]
Select this option to clarify light
characters but reduce shadows in
a cut-and-paste original.
