Without a numeric suffix in the optional keyword:
[SENSe:]FREQuency:CENTer
is the same as
FREQuency:CENTer
With a numeric suffix in the optional keyword:
DISPlay[:WINDow<1...4>]:ZOOM:STATe
DISPlay:ZOOM:STATe ON
enables the zoom in window 1 (no suffix).
DISPlay:WINDow4:ZOOM:STATe ON
enables the zoom in window 4.

Alternative Keywords
A vertical stroke indicates alternatives for a specific keyword. You can use both key-
words to the same effect.
Example:
[SENSe:]BANDwidth|BWIDth[:RESolution]
In the short form without optional keywords,
BAND 1MHZ
would have the same effect
as
BWID 1MHZ
.

SCPI Parameters
Many commands feature one or more parameters.
If a command supports more than one parameter, these are separated by a comma.
Example:
LAYout:ADD:WINDow Spectrum,LEFT,MTABle
Parameters may have different forms of values.

Numeric Values
Numeric values can be entered in any form, i.e. with sign, decimal point or exponent. In
case of physical quantities, you can also add the unit. If the unit is missing, the com-
mand uses the basic unit.
Example:
With unit:
SENSe:FREQuency:CENTer 1GHZ
Without unit:
SENSe:FREQuency:CENTer 1E9
would also set a frequency of 1 GHz.
