Accessing Remote Management

Access the remote management console using a Web browser on a 

workstation that is on the same network as the DXi8500.
See the following sections for more information about accessing 

DXi8500 remote management:

•

Supported Browsers

•

Logging On to the DXi8500

•

Logging Off of the DXi8500

Supported Browsers

Web browser software is not included with the DXi8500. You must 

obtain and install it separately. The DXi8500 remote management 

console supports the following Web browsers:

•

Windows

 - Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.x or higher, Mozilla Firefox 

7.x or higher

•

Linux

 - Mozilla Firefox 7.x or higher

Note:

For correct operation of the remote management console, 

disable any pop-up blockers and enable JavaScript in your Web 

browser.

Note:

Buttons, borders, and other graphic elements may display 

differently in Internet Explorer 7 and 8. These differences are 

cosmetic only and do not affect functionality in any way.

Logging On to the 

DXi8500

To log on to the DXi8500 remote management console:

Launch a supported Web browser on a workstation that has 

network access to the DXi8500.

In the browser address box, type the IP address of the DXi8500, and 

then press 

<Enter>

.

The 

Login

 window displays (see

).
