Quantum DXi8500 User’s Guide

Fibre Channel Switch

(1TB and 2TB Systems

Only)

The DXi8500 Fibre Channel switch is used to create an internal Fibre

Channel network (or SAN) used to connect all Array modules and

Expansion modules within the system. The Ethernet port located on the

Fibre Channel switch is used to provide status information to the

DXi8500 system.

Note:

The Fibre Channel switch is included only in DXi8500 1TB and

2TB base systems. DXi8500 3TB base systems do not include or

require a Fibre Channel switch.
