Fiber Termination Kit
Two Fiber Termination Kits are packed with each ODU at the factory for installations where a breakout cable is
attached directly to the ODU. This Fiber Termination Kit is designed to accommodate fiber cable with a 2.7 to 3.0
mm outside diameter jacket. Contact Proxim Technical Support to check availability of alternative fiber cable
termination arrangements if you wish to use another type of fiber cable.
Each kit contains four items, shown in Figure 11 below:

Fiber Termination Kit Components
Terminate and connect each fiber cable as described below:
1. Position a rubber sleeve, boot, and crimping ferrule on each fiber.
2. Strip the fiber according to the dimensions shown in Figure 12 below.

3. Clean the fiber.
4. Resin the connector.
5. Remove the excess epoxy from the optical face with cleaning paper.
6. Apply resin on buffered fiber: 3 to 4 mm.
7. Apply resin on the outside of the grooved barrel of the connector: 3 to 4 mm.
