Replacing the Lamp Cartridge

• The lamp as a light source used in the unit has a lifespan. The rated lamp life is about 1,000 hours.

The rated lamp life is the average life of the lamps produced and tested (under the test conditions of our company) for
a long term, however, it may become shorter depending on the conditions of usage.

• When the lamp usage time (the time indicated at “Lamp Hour Meter”) reaches 1000 hours (when the projector is used

in the normal mode only), the STATUS indicator lights red and the message “It is time to replace the lamp. Replace the
lamp as soon as possible, following the instructions in the manual.” appears on the screen. This indicates it is time to
replace the lamp cartridge. Do so using the procedure described below.
The lamp’s service life will be extended if the projector is frequently used in the economy mode. In this case the usage
time is extended.

• See page E-63 for instructions on getting an approximation of the current remaining lamp usage time.

• If the projector is used another 100 hours after the lamp’s service life is reached, the power is set to the standby mode

and no longer turns on.

• Contact a store that sells the U2-X2000 for a replacement lamp. Indicate you need a U2-200 replacement lamp for the

U2-X2000 (order code 28-320).

CAUTION

• DO NOT TOUCH THE LAMP immediately after it has been used. It will be extremely hot. Allow at least one hour for the

lamp to cool before handling.

• DO NOT LOOSEN ANY SCREWS except for those men-tioned in the instructions below. There is danger of electric

shock.

CAUTION

Do not use a lamp cartridge other than the PLUS replacement lamp cartridge. Order this from your PLUS dealer using the
unit model number.
