Additional information
Optional system settings
These settings are accessed by using the System Setup
menu while in standby.

Switch the system into standby.

Press SHIFT and SYSTEM SETUP.

Use the
/
(cursor left/right) buttons to
choose the setting you want to adjust then press
ENTER.
The current setting is shown for each option as you cycle
through the display. See below for a full list and
description of each.

Use the

(cursor up/down) buttons to adjust
the setting.

Press ENTER to confirm.

Repeat steps 1–5 to make other settings.
System Setup menu options in standby
Below are all the available settings in the setup menu.
The first setting in each section is the default. See also
the notes in each section for additional information
about the settings.
Child lock setting
The Child Lock feature is useful when you’ve set a timer
recording and want to make sure that the timer settings
are not changed before recording has finished.
•
Lock Off
– Restores regular use of the front panel
buttons and controls.
•
Lock On
– Makes the front panel buttons and
controls inoperative.
Analog audio attenuator setting
If the source connected to the analog audio input is
distorting, use the attenuator to reduce the signal level.
•
ATT 6dB
– Reduces the signal level by 6dB.
•
ATT 10dB
– Reduces the signal level by 10dB.
•
ATT Off
– No attenuation
Resetting the system
Use this procedure to reset all system settings to the
factory default.

Make sure that the system is on.

Press and hold the front panel
STOP REC
button and press the front panel
STANDBY/ON.
The system turns off with all settings reset.
Setting up the remote to control your
TV
You can use the supplied remote to control your TV. To be
able to use this feature you first have to program the
remote with a maker code from the table on the following
page.

Switch on your TV.

Press and hold down the CLEAR button, then
enter the maker code for your TV.
See the table on the next page for the list of maker codes.
If there is more than one code given for your make, input
the first one in the list.
• If the maker’s name of your TV doesn’t appear in the
table, you will not be able to use this remote to
control your TV.

Point the remote towards your TV and press
TV STANDBY/ON to check that the remote works
with your TV.
If the remote is set up correctly, the TV should switch off.
If it doesn’t and there is another code given for your
maker, repeat step
1
with a new code.

The table below shows how to use this remote control
with your TV.
