Using Parental Control
Locking a Time Period
Passport DCT lets you lock one time period so that viewing is blocked for a set period of time every
day. To do this, use the Lock Time option in the Parental Control preference as described in the
procedure below. Once you have specified the start and ending settings, you turn locking on and off
to manage blocking and unblocking of selected programming. For a detailed overview of how
parental control functions, refer to About Parental Control on page 97.
To lock time periods
1 Press the SETTINGS button. The Settings menu displays.
2 Press the up or down arrow button to highlight the Parental Control preference.
3 Press the right arrow to move to the Option column.
4 Press the numbered buttons to enter the four numbers of your PIN. You now see the Option
column.
5 Press the up or down arrow button to highlight the Lock Time option.
6 Press the right arrow button to see the Start time. A display similar to the one below appears.
7 To lock an entire 24-hour period, highlight the Lock All option. Press the SELECT button. “All
hours are locked” displays. Go to step 13.
8 To set the start time, press the up or down arrow button to highlight the hour and minutes
when you want the locked time period to begin.
9 Press the SELECT button to set the start time. You now see the End column.
10 Press the up or down arrow button to highlight the hour and minutes when you want the
locked time period to end.
