GC Injection Port Maintenance
The following sections provide instructions on maintenance of the GC injection port.
The following image shows an exploded view of the GC injection port. Refer to this image while
doing maintenance on the GC injection port.
Accessing the GC Injection Port
The following steps are required before doing any maintenance on the GC injection port.
1. Unscrew the plastic cover from the Universal Interface.
2. Using the Ring Removal tool remove the stainless steel Interfacing Mounting Ring Nut.
3. Pull the Universal Interface out of the top of the Torion T-9 GC/MS.
4. After removal of the Universal Interface the GC injection port is accessible.
Septum Replacement
1. Make sure the instrument is cool.
2. Remove the Septum Nut from the top of the GC injection port by unscrewing the nut with
the Septa Nut Tool.
3. Remove the old Septum.
4. Install the new Septum.
5. Replace the Septum Nut. Make sure the nut is tight.
