Starting up the System
Summary of the procedure
Read the safety information at the front of this guide before you operate the system.
1.
Make sure that the spectrometer system and other ancillary instruments are correctly installed and
connected to their AC line power outlets.
2.
If you need the (optional) autosampler, connect the autosampler to AC line power.
3.
Switch on the exhaust venting system for the work area.
4.
Turn on the burner gases and adjust the outlet gauge pressures to the recommended values.
Always set the same outlet gauge pressure for air and nitrous oxide.
5.
Install the required lamp for the analyte element.
6.
Switch on the spectrometer using the AC power on/off switch, located on the E-Box.
7.
Set up the burner system.
8.
Procedures for shutting down the system are described in
Chapter 8, Analyzing Samples.
In an emergency, you can shut down the system as described in
Chapter 8, Analyzing Samples.

Set the outlet gauge pressure for each gas to a value just below the maximum value
