Step 1:
To access
RIP System WIde Configuration
, click the
Advanced
link located at the
top right-hand side of the page.
Step 2:
Click
RIP Config
on the left menu. The
RIP System WIde Configuration
page
appears:
Step 3:
Select to
Enable
or
Disable RIP
session
using the list box provided. RIP is
disabled by default. The resulting RIP session will monitor all network interfaces that
are currently available for messages from tother RIP routers.
Step 4:
Populate the
Supply Interval
field in seconds. This field specifies how often the RIP
sends out announcements as a RIP Supplier. The range for the
Supply Interval
field
is from 0 - 2147483647 seconds. It is defaulted to 30 seconds.
Step 5:
Populate the
Expire Timeout
field in seconds. This field specifies the expiration
time of a route. When a route has not been updated for more than the 'expired'
period of time, it is removed from the
Route Table.
This route is then regarded as
invalidate and will remain in the internal
RIP
Route Table
.
It will be included in the RIP announcements to let other routers know the changes.
The range for
Expire Timeout
is from 0 - 2147483647. The default is set to
180
.
Step 6:
Populate the
Garbage Timeout
field. This field specifies how long the expired and
invalidate routes are to be kept in the internal
RIP Route Table
before they are
removed. The range for
Garbage Timeout
is from 0 - 2147483647. The default is
set to
120
.
Step 7:
Click the
Submit
button to complete the configuration.
Step 8:
To save the settings, click the
Save Settings
button.
