Holds, Alerts and Lockouts
The controller dynamically reports status by means of codes. These codes are classified as Hold, Alert, and
Lockout and are listed in the Troubleshooting Section of this manual. Refer to Table 16-3 for Hold and Lockout
codes and Table 16-4 for a list of Alert codes.
In a Hold state the controller is waiting for an event to occur, such as closing of the air proving switch. Typically
no manual intervention is needed; Hold conditions are transient in nature and a normal part of appliance
operation. Alert codes are used to report non-critical events that do not require manual intervention.
Lockouts occur when a safety limit is exceeded, e.g. stack temperature limit of 220°F [104°C], or the air proving
switch cannot prove. Lockouts force burner shutdown and require manual action to restore the appliance to
normal operation. A Lockout persists until a) the “Reset” button on the display is pressed and released; b) the
Reset button on the controller is pressed and released; c) power to the appliance is turned off and turned on
again.
