User Mode
On power-up, after briefly displaying its software version number, the display enters User mode. In User mode,
the display shows current boiler operating data such as Outlet temperature, CH setpoint, or burner firing rate.
User mode consists of the screen items listed in Table 13-2.
Table 13-2 User Mode Screens
Setting
Description
Factory Setting
Outlet
Shows current outlet water temperature (temperature of hot water exiting boiler to
load); press the Up or Down button to enter a screen wherein the Central Heat setpoint
temperature may be set. Use the Up and Down buttons to modify the setting as desired.
Range 60°F to 195°F [15°C to 90°C].
180°F [82°C]
Inlet
Shows current inlet water temperature (temperature of cooled water entering the
boiler from load). No user action required.
N/A
DeltaT
Shows the current temperature difference of Outlet minus Inlet. No user action
required.
N/A
DHW
Displays “---“ indicating that no Domestic Hot Water tank sensor is connected (the
Ts80 model does not support a tank sensor); press the Up or Down button to enter a
screen wherein the DHW indirect setpoint temperature may be set. Use the Up and
Down buttons to modify the setting as desired. Range 60°F to 195°F [15°C to 90°C].
180°F [82°C]
Stack
Shows current stack temperature (temperature of exhaust gas). No user action required.
N/A
Outdoor
Shows current outdoor temperature (if factory provided outdoor sensor is connected).
No user action required.
N/A
Rate
Shows current firing rate in %. No user action required.
N/A
LL
This parameter does not apply to the Ts80 model.
N/A
Depending on the controller mode of operation, in User mode the display distinguishes between two “home”
screens:
• If CH (Thermostat) call for heat is active, the display considers Outlet to be the home screen.
• If DHW call for heat is active, then DHW will be the home screen.
Figure 13-2 Typical Screen Format
To advance through the screens, press the “Next” button (right-hand oval button under the screen). The following
is a detailed description of a typical screen, in this example Outlet Water Temperature. See Figure and Table 13-2.
On screens where parameter adjustment is possible, use the Up and Down arrow buttons (located immediately to
the right of the screen) to, respectively, increase or decrease the displayed value by 1 (Note: if a button is held in
continuously the value changes more rapidly). For example, to change the CH setpoint, ensure that the Outlet
screen is selected, then press either the Up or Down button to immediately show the current CH setpoint value,
then continue pressing either Up or Down to modify the value. When the desired value is displayed, press the
“Done” button (left-hand oval button below the screen) or simply allow the screen to timeout. Table 13-3 lists
the timeout duration of User mode screens.
