Intelligent Switch (L2) 

The slot to install the intelligent switch is shown below. Install the intelligent switch (L2) in the 
ascending order of slot numbers (from left to right slots). 

IMPORTANT:

 The intelligent switch (L2) also manages the KVM 

Select, Media Select, and Serial Select functions. Connect the BLADE 
switching cable A/B and KVM cable to the intelligent switch (L2) in 
the slot of which Master/Slave lamp is lit, because that intelligent 
switch carries the management function. For more information, refer to 
the User's Guide of intelligent switch (L2).

Slot to Install an Intelligent Switch (L2) 

The intelligent switch slots located on the rear of the blade assembly unit can contain up to two 
N8406-005F intelligent switches (L2). 

As shown in the figure below, an intelligent switch installed in slot 7 is connected to LAN1 port of 
each CPU blade, and that in slot 8 is connected to LAN port of each CPU blade.
