3.2.6 Area Of Interest (AOI)

In case of use of auto exposure (AE) mode or image trigger (IMG TRIG) mode, you should specify a

reference area where luminance level is measured. Area of interest (AOI) is used for specifying the said
reference area.

Note: AOI is called as AE AREA on the J-Pad 3 ver.2.02 or earlier.

In the VIEW mode, you can set AOI from VIEW MENU of J-PAD3, as follows.

In the VIEW mode, press

to enter the VIEW MENU.

Select "AOI" from the VIEW MENU using the up/down
keys

. (Figure 3-18).

Use the left/right keys

to select the area of interest.

FULL

AOI

is the whole image.

CENTER

AOI

is a central part of the image.

(25% of area)
UPPER

AOI

is an upper half of the image.

LOWER

AOI

is a lower half of the image.

LEFT

AOI

is a left half of the image.

RIGHT

AOI

is a right half of the image.

CUSTOM

AOI

specified by GXLink (*).

* Custom AOI: You can specify

AOI

in pixels by pixels using the GXLink. You can choose “CUSTOM”

mode by the J-PAD3 but cannot specify its area by the J-PAD3. Please refer to GXLink
User’s Manual for the custom AOI setting procedure.
