7.7 - Set Up Phones
7.7.1. - The Monitor system can be set up to report to up to 10 Phones
(
monitor III
), 5 Phones (
monitor II
) & 3 Phones (
monitor I
). The system can be set
to send combinations of specific information or all information on a
number by number basis. When choosing which Phones the system will
report to consider the following as a minimum:
7.7.1.1. - The phone must be capable of receiving text messages.
7.7.1.2. - Ideally it must also be able to send text messages.
7.7.1.3. - Mobile phones may suffer signal problems so selecting
phones likely to be in different locations improves likelihood of a
quick receipt of any alarms.
7.7.1.4. - Mobiles can be switched off - if all registered phones are
off any alarm will not be received.
7.7.1.5. - Alarms may occur at night as well as in the day.
7.7.1.6. - Reliability of phone owner.
7.7.2. - There are 7 types/groups of messages that the Monitor system will
send, these are called ‘events’ and are; Status, Low Battery, Alarm Arm,
Alarm Disarm, GeoFenced Triggered, Monitor Triggered, Alarm Triggered.
7.7.3. - Which messages each of the phones receive is determined by its
‘event mask’. An ‘event mask’ is a number ranging from 0 to 127 and is
calculated by adding together the event codes for the required messages,
detailed in table 7.7.3.1.: -

7.7.3.2. - For example the event mask required to receive
messages when the alarm is triggered, automatic status messages
and messages when the battery is low would be 67 (64+1+2).
