WS4 LX Troubleshooting
Workstation 4 LX Diagnostic Utility

Diagnostics Version

This field displays the WS4 LX Diagnostics Utility Software Version. Version
0.63 is part of the GR1.3 platform files.

WinCE Version

This field reports the Windows Embedded CE 6.0 Build Number.

MCROS Build Version

The MICROS build version represents the combination of the Windows
Embedded CE image component and internal drivers. Note that ‘H’ is an
abbreviation for ‘Hamilton’ the Workstation 4 LX project name.

The MICROS Build Version increments when any of the following occurs.

•

A Windows CE internal driver is added, removed, or modified.

•

Updates, Hotfixes, and QFE’s applied to any component of Windows CE.

CAL Version

This field displays the version of the CAL Client residing on the Workstation.

LXBEEP.DLL Version

This driver allows POS applications to access the system board beeper while
Windows Embedded CE 6.0 is running. At boot time, the BIOS controls the
beeper.

LXPOWER.DLL Version

This driver helps manage power button events while the operating system is
running. In addition, the CAL calls this driver to force a restart of the workstation
during an application download or platform upgrade.

UWS4.DLL Version

This file contains the WS4 LX API, or Applications Programming Interface. POS
applications use the API to access POS hardware such as the Cash Drawers,
Magnetic Stripe Reader, and the LCD Customer Display.

LED.DLL Version

This driver controls the Operator LED blink rate when the operating system is
running. At start-up, the LED Blinks once per second, then turns solid Blue as the
operating system starts and loads LED.DLL.

E2PROM.DLL Version

This driver provides access to a system board serial EEPROM that is used to store
information such as the system board serial number reported in the System
Information screen of the Diagnostics Utility.

BIOS Version

New to the GR 1.3 platform, this field displays the System BIOS Version. The
GR1.3 Platform Software includes BIOS Version H1003b.
