Disconnect Supervision on FXO Port:
Disconnect information on FXO port can be detected in one of following two methods:
1.
Disconnect Signaling Detection on FXO Port
2.
Disconnect Tone Detection on FXO Port
1. Disconnect Signaling Detection on FXO Port
Disconnect signaling is the signal given by the CO to detect far end disconnection in case of outgoing as well
as incoming call. Disconnect Supervision on FXO Port can be provided by CO in one of the following forms:
• None: This option is selected when no signaling is available from the CO. If this option is selected then
FXO Port will be released when the remote end disconnects the call or if the disconnect tone is detected
on the FXO Port.
• Battery Reversal: Battery Reversal is a signal generated by the PSTN by reversing the battery polarity to
indicate call disconnection in case of incoming as well as outgoing calls. For example, if in speech
condition the battery polarity is negative for TIP and positive for RING then after call disconnection battery
polarity for TIP becomes positive and RING becomes negative. On detecting this signal, FXO Port will be
released and other port will get error tone of the system.
• Open Loop Disconnect: Open Loop Disconnect is a pulse which is generated by the CO on removing the
battery for time period say, open loop disconnect timer and again connects it. The duration for Open Loop
Disconnect pulse varies from one service provider to other and countrywise. If Open Loop signal is
detected for the time less than the Open Loop Disconnect timer programmed then it will not be considered
as valid open loop signal for releasing the port.
• Open Loop Disconnect Timer: Open Loop Disconnect Timer is applicable when Disconnect Supervision
method selected is 'Open Loop Disconnect'. System detects the loop current for the time period
programmed as Open Loop Disconnect Timer.
Use following command to program the disconnect signal on the FXO Port:

By default, Disconnect Signal is Battery Reversal.
Use following command to program Open Loop Disconnect Timer on the FXO Port:
219-Open Loop Disconnect Timer-#*
Where,
Open Loop Disconnect Timer is from 001 to 999 ms.
By default, it is 200 ms.
Keep Open Loop Disconnect Timer as less than what is actually supported by the PSTN network.
2. Disconnect Tone Detection on FXO Port
Disconnect tone detection is one of the method by which call disconnection on FXO Port is detected by the
system. When the called party disconnects the call, the PSTN sends a tone after some time to the calling
party. On detecting this tone, the system releases the FXO Port. This tone is called 'Disconnection Tone'.
