On the Channelized OC-3 STS1 Port Configuration window (see
Figure 3-10), select an unconfigured channel on the right panel of the
window. The Channelized OC-3 Virtual DS1 Channel Configuration win-
dow is displayed (see Figure 3-11). Table 3-8 describes the commands on
the window. Table 3-9 describes the configurable fields on the window.
Note:
You must have selected the value Enabled in the Channelization
field on the Channelized OC-3 Virtual DS1 Port Configuration win-
dow (see Figure 3-11).

In the Interface Type field, select one of the following types of interface
types from Table 3-9.
If you select CircuitEmulation as the interface type, the Signaling field
displays. If you want to strap any channels together, do not change the
Signaling field default, which is
Disabled .

Begin the strapping process by using the arrow key to highlight an Avail-
able DS0 that you want to strap with other DS0s in the [Available DS0s]
field.

Press Enter. This action displays an X below DS0 number. Repeat steps 3
and 4 until you have strapped all the DS0s you want to strap for the
selected channel. (In the sample configuration shown in Figure 3-13,
channels 1 through 5 have been strapped).

Select the Apply Configuration command and press Enter.
In the [DS0s Strapped] field (display only), the values for the DS0s you
just selected are displayed (see Figure 3-14). This first group of strapped
DS0s are now shown as Channel 1 on the Ch OC-3 Virtual DS1 Channel
Configuration window.

To strap together more DS0s for another channel in the selected port,
reselect the Channel field and enter the next channel number you want
to strap.

Repeat step 2-6 for the rest of the available DS0s (or as many as you
want to use).
