Configuring J1 Trace

The J1 and J2 byte configuration ensures that data reaches the correct desti-
nation and also helps in long term data monitoring.

Perform the following procedure to configure the J1 Trace on the Channel-
ized STM-1 SM Port Configuration window.

Begin

From the STM-1 SM Port Configuration Window (see Figure 4-8), set the
J1 Trace field to

Enabled

(see Table 4-18).

Note:

From the Channelized STM-1 SM Port Configuration window,
verify that the J1 Trace field is set to

Enabled

After applying the

Indicates whether a switchover has occurred from one
module to the other module in the pair.
