From the Channelized STM-1 Port Configuration window (see
Figure 4-9), select the
Configure AU-3 Virtual Port 1
command. The
STM-1 AU-3 Port Configuration window is displayed in Figure 4-10.
Table 4-6 describes the commands on the window. Table 4-7 describes
the fields on the window.
[Line Status]
Default:
NoAlarm
Range: N/A
Format: Predefined
Indicates the line status of the interface: loopback, failure,
received and transmitted alarm information. For a list of all
possible line status codes and their corresponding descrip-
tions, see the Module Line Status Table in the Reference
Information Appendix of this guide.
Operating Mode
Default:
OC3
Range: N/A
Format: Predefined
Specifies the operating mode of the module. To change from
one mode to another, select this field and press Enter to dis-
play the apprpriate mode. Use the
Apply Operating Mode
Change
command to load the displayed operating mode.
After applying the command, approximately 25 seconds
elapse until the PSAX system recognizes the change in oper-
ating mode. After the change, it may be necessary to refresh
and display the appropriate wording on the window by tog-
gling between this window, the previous window, and back
to this window again. When configuring the two modules
for 1+1 protection, the same operating mode must be
applied to both modules first before configuring 1+1 protec-
tion.
Note:
All interfaces must be out of service, deleted, and
unconfigured before changing the operating mode.
OC3
The processing and transmission protocol is Japanese/North
American.
STM1
The processing and transmission protocol is European.

Specifies whether the J1 Trace feature is enabled or disabled
for this port.
Disabled
Indicates the J1 Trace feature is disabled.
Enabled
Indicates the J1 Trace feature is enabled.

Specifies whether the J2 Trace feature is enabled or disabled
for this port.
Disabled
Indicates the J2 Trace feature is disabled.
Enabled
Indicates the J2 Trace feature is enabled.
