2.5.4.1  Manual call point with Zener Barrier Z978

This drawing gives a fundamental description of the connection. Because of the two 600 Ohm resistors 
inside the safety barrier, the 1kOhm alarm resistor of the manual call point has to be bypassed by con-
necting terminal 1 to terminal 6. When using a different manual call point, the connection diagram can 
be different.

The alarm state will be triggered by a very low resistance between the output terminals of the safety 
barrier.

The installation in the hazardous area has to comply with the local regulations, guidelines and require-
ments.

A short circuit at the output of the Z978 (terminals 1 / 4) will be evaluated as alarm.
