4. Replace the cover (see “Removing and replacing the cover” on page 72).
5. Slide the server into the rack.
6. Reconnect the power cord and any cables that you removed.
7. Turn on the peripheral devices and the server.

To remove and install the optional two-port Ethernet adapter, complete the steps in this section.
Removing the optional two-port Ethernet adapter
To remove the optional two-port Ethernet adapter, complete the following steps:
1. Read the safety information in Chapter 2 “Safety information” on page 3 and “Installation guidelines”
on page 67.
2. Turn off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect all power cords.
3. Remove the cover (see “Removing and replacing the cover” on page 72).
4. Remove the PCI riser-card assembly from PCI riser connector 1 (see “Removing and installing a PCI
riser-card assembly” on page 81).
5. Press the retention tabs away from the adapter.
6. Grasp the Ethernet adapter and disengage it from the connector on the system board; then, slide it out of
the slot on the rear of the chassis and lift it out of the server.
