Note:
The operator panel connector housing with the side retaining clips remains attached to the operator
panel. The operator panel cable slides into this housing.
Step 1. Disconnect the operator panel cable from the operator panel.
Step 2. If you are replacing the operator panel cable, disconnect the operator panel cable from the lower
system board and unroute the cable. See “Cable routing for common components” on page 42.
Step 3. Press on the two release tabs on the top of the front operator panel and, pressing from the rear of
the panel, carefully slide the operator panel forward.
Step 4. Remove the front operator panel from the compute tray.
If you are instructed to return the front operator panel or cable, follow all packaging instructions, and use any
packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
Install the front operator panel
The front operator panel is in the lower compute tray that is accessed from the front of the server. Insert the
front operator panel in the front of the lower compute tray and press the panel in until it locks in place; then,
connect the operator panel cable.

CAUTION:
The power-control button on the device and the power switch on the power supply do not turn off the
electrical current supplied to the device. The device also might have more than one power cord. To
remove all electrical current from the device, ensure that all power cords are disconnected from the
power source.
