the SCSI ID
Verify that the SCSI cable is connected correctly.

2.7 Connecting to the Host Computer
Verify that the SCSI adapter card is correctly
installed in the computer.
Verify that all the connected SCSI devices are LVD
devices. The LaCie AIT Library is an LVD device.
Do not connect an HDV device to the library.
Verify that all the devices on the SCSI bus are
Wide SCSI devices. The LaCie AIT Library is a
Wide SCSI device. All devices on the SCSI bus
must be Wide SCSI devices. (Wide-Narrow
adapters can also be used.)
Make the length of the SCSI cable, which connects
the host computer and the device at the end of
the SCSI bus, shorter than 10 meters (32 ft. 9.7
in.).
Verify that the SCSI bus is terminated correctly.

7.7 SCSI Specifications
Verify that the LaCie AIT Library supports the
application software. For guidance on application
software that can be used on the LaCie AIT Library
and on operating systems that are supported,
please contact your reseller or LaCie Technical
Support.
Verify that the application software is correctly
installed and correctly setup on the host
computer.
Check whether the host computer was turned on
less than 10 seconds after turning on the library. If
the host computer is turned on too soon after
turning on the library, the host computer may not
detect the SCSI devices. When using DHCP, wait
at least 30 seconds.
Data cannot be
written or read, even
though the application
and the library are
working properly.
Verify that the erase-protection tab of the
cartridge is set to writable.

2.11.3 Setting the
Cartridges
Use only Sony AIT cartridges. Also check whether
or not the AIT drive supports the cartridges.
If a cartridge has been used for a long time or
very frequently, replace it with a new cartridge.
