2.2.1 General cleaning of optical components
Clean the valuable coated optical components in the KEY Laser without applying
pressure and only using the following materials:
▪ ① Ultrapure acetone > 99%
▪ ②Lint-free cotton cloth (as a base)
– 300 x 300 Mat. no. 1.001.8615
– 150 x 150 Mat. no. 1.001.8616
▪ ③Q-tip with wood stick (Mat. no. 1.001.8617)
▪ ④Kodak lens cleaning paper (Mat. no. 1.001.8618)

CAUTION
Damage resulting from improper use
If used incorrectly, optical components may be rendered useless.
▶ Never touch the coated optical surfaces with bare hands.
▶ Always protect the coated surfaces against soiling and damage of any kind.
▶ Before disassembly, use an air blower to remove any loose dirt.
▶ Remove the optical components in accordance with the Service Technician’s
instructions.
▶ Sprinkle 99% acetone over the entire surface of the optical component.
▶ Slowly wipe a sheet of lens cleaning paper ④ over the surface.
At the same time, use a cotton bud to hold the optical component steady and
prevent it from slipping.
Note
The acetone must be evaporated before the you stop using the lens cleaning paper.
Otherwise, slight spots can arise on the surface that will have to be cleaned with
the same cleaning procedure.
