customer replaceable units (CRU) and which components are field replaceable units (FRU).
v If an action step is preceded by “(Trained service technician only),” that step must be performed only by a
trained service technician.
Error code Description Action
001-250-00n ECC test logic failed.
1. Restart the server.
2. Run the diagnostic test again.
3. (Trained service technician) Replace the failing
microprocessor.
011-xxx-000 Failed COM1 serial port test. (Trained service technician only) Replace the system
board.
015-xxx-001 Failed USB test. (Trained service technician only) Replace the system
board.
015-xxx-198 USB device connected during USB test.
1. Remove all USB devices and run the test again.
2. (Trained service technician only) Replace the
system board.
020-xxx-000 Failed PCI Interface test. (Trained service technician only) Replace the system
board.
201-xxx-0nn Failed memory test; nn = slot number of
failing DIMM.
1. Reseat the DIMM in slot nn .
2. Replace the following components one at a time,
in the order shown, restarting the server each
time:
a. DIMM in slot nn
b. (Trained service technician only) System
board
201-xxx-n99 Multiple DIMM failure; n = bank number of
failing pair.
1. See the error text to identify the failing DIMMs.
2. Reseat the DIMMs in bank nn .
3. Replace the following components one at a time,
in the order shown, restarting the server each
time:
a. DIMMs in bank nn
b. (Trained service technician only) System
board
201-198-xxx Memory test aborted.
1. Restart the server.
2. Run the diagnostic test again.
3. Reinstall the diagnostic program.
4. Refer to the error log for additional information.
201-199-xxx Unexpected error.
